New Kid on the Block
January 25, 2010
That’s not a cocker spaniel puppy you’re “awwwing” at but a mini-Nubian goat kid, born to Angel at the Central Park Zoo. This floppy-eared little one arrived in early January. He spends his days scampering after his mom, who makes sure he gets milk and warm hay to lie on. The two look strikingly different: Angel is white and coffee-colored, while the baby has a dark coat with just a few patches of white.
Angel and her baby share an exhibit at the
Tisch Children's Zoo with other
mini Nubian goats Ace, Monique and Spirit. They have playful personalities and calm demeanors that make them a delight among zoo visitors of all ages. The fivesome lives alongside pygmy goats and the zoo’s famous full-sized Nubian, Newman.
